On Sunday, 29th January we marked the end of Catholic Schools Week, and presented each of our schools with a flag which denotes the radical inclusive nature of our school communities.
The flag contains the words, precious, honoured and loved. These three words are taken from a verse from the Prophet Isaiah which reads, “You are precious in my eyes and honoured and l love you.” (Is.43)
We chose these three words - precious, honoured, loved - because they express what we as a Catholic community believe about each and every child who attends our schools. We wanted a flag which would be radically inclusive, offensive to no one’s beliefs or worldview, and yet which would assert something profound about every single child within our care.
